Welcome to our inaugural ‘highlights of the month’ blog, an opportunity for us to show you what ’s been happening in the CubanEight office and some of the work we’ve been delivering for our clients over the last four weeks.
August began with a fantastic piece in The Telegraph for Northamptonshire Enterprise Partnership, exploring why so many businesses have chosen to relocate from London to Northamptonshire following advertising and funding campaign. With half a page in the paper and a further piece online, the article highlights many of the benefits of the county, as well as the local enterprise partnership’s innovative approach to working with businesses – have a look at the online piece here.
We also had another very positive article published in The Mail on Sunday for the Direct Selling Association, with news of a boost in over 50s and non-British people in the direct selling industry. The article revealed new statistics and demographics from the annual survey into the industry – for example did you know that direct selling netted £2bn for the UK economy last year? Check out the Mail Online piece here for more details. (This one in particular was particularly exciting for me as I work with the DSA – you can’t beat some national coverage for a mid-month boost!)
Bad customer service is often in the news, but Zendesk offered the flip side this month when its advice on how to come out on top with customer service departments as a consumer was published in The Times. You can read more here but essentially we must all try to remain calm and mind our Ps and Qs!
Another of our clients, Wandera was featured in the Telegraph online this month with a startling report that revealed British businesses are likely to incur mobile data roaming costs of up to £170m this summer. This is due to employees checking email or even Facebook on work phones while abroad – not so happy holidays for business, but great coverage of the report.
National coverage aside, it’s also been a great month in the CubanEight office, we’ve had a re-fresh of the office lay out, and also found out we’ve been nominated for five industry awards. We enjoyed our August team lunch at the Old Flight House – a combination of antique emporium and café that is a top treat for lunch, being only five minutes from the office!
The summer season has been great, but with September now here, it’s time to start planning towards our autumn / winter stories, and of course Christmas – things move quickly in the PR world! See you next month.
