CubanEight – one to watch!

CubanEight logoThe past few months the CubanEight HQ has been a hive of activity. As well as recently finding out that we have been shortlisted for four awards at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations’ annual PRide awards, CubanEight has also been highlighted as one of PR Week’s ‘On Our Radar’ agencies to watch out for in 2012.

Published as part of the magazine’s annual Top 150 Consultancies report, the comments on CubanEight’s selection as one of just three agencies highlighted include the agency’s growing client base, revenue and team, which made 2012 a record year for us!

As a young company, it’s a great compliment to be featured in the PR industry’s bible in this way, particular as just three consultancies were selected throughout the UK.

Clearly our reputation is growing – thank you to all our clients and everyone who has been recommending us! This has been further helped by CubanEight being included as one of PR Week’s top technology PR consultancies in the UK for the second year running. We climbed up to 38th position, up one place from last year.

The growth in our technology-focused business follows client wins such as sat-nav application CoPilot Live, which was a great addition to our consumer tech portfolio, and Vitrue, a leading social media management platform which was recently acquired by Oracle. Our work with technology-driven energy firm First Utility, one of the agency’s longest standing clients, has also been a major campaign for us over the past year, and recently included the launch of the company’s innovative my:energy programme, a software-based energy efficiency service which it has launched to 100,000 customers in conjunction with American-based energy efficiency firm Opower.

The latest accolade is being shortlisted for four CIPR PRide Awards. This year we are up once again for the award we won last year, Outstanding Small Consultancy, but we have also been shortlisted twice for our campaign work:

  • In the Corporate and Business Communications category for our work with The Direct Selling Association
  • In the Best use of Media Relations category for our campaign “David takes on Goliath in energy debate” for First Utility
  • In addition, one of our team, Annabel Parkinson, has been recognised in the Outstanding Young Communicator category.

The news came as a great boost for the whole team and all that we have achieved over the past year. Watch this space – we find out whether we’ve won on 23rd November.
