CubanEight’s favourite Christmas songs & movies

Festive fever has hit the CubanEight office as the week-long countdown to Christmas officially begins today. In celebration, we’ve asked the team to name their favourite Christmas films and movies…

Annabel Parkinson-Lee

Christmas movie: My favourite Christmas movie is Elf because I love the quirkiness of it and whenever I see it I know Christmas is around the corner.

Christmas song: My favourite Christmas song is Only You by The Flying Pickets. Whenever I hear it I think about all the best bits about Christmas.

Steph Reynolds

Christmas movie: Miracle on the 34th street – my mum used to put it on at Christmas Eve, so it always makes me feel Christmassy.

Christmas song: Fairytale of New York – just because it makes me smile and want to dance.

Siobhan Eyres

Christmas movie: Elf – because who wouldn’t want to “pass through the seven levels of the Candy Cane forest, through the sea of swirly twirly gum drops, and then I walked through the Lincoln Tunnel.”

Sian Gaskell

Christmas movie: Love Actually.

Christmas Song: Last Christmas by Wham!

Joshua Speers

Christmas movie: My favourite Christmas movie is Jingle All The Way. The Terminator does Christmas? It shouldn’t work, but it so does.

Christmas song: Mine would be Britney Spears – O’Holy Night. Britney delivers a stunning vocal on this all-time Christmas classic.

Charlotte Ashby

Christmas movie:  The Snowman – because I like to sing along loudly…

Christmas song: The Pogues, Fairytale of New York.

Hamish Armstrong

Christmas movie:  Elf because of “Not now arctic puffin” and “Son of a nutcracker”. And Will Ferrell.

Christmas song: Fairytale Of New York because it’s a tuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuune.

Mary Worrall

Christmas movie:  Love Actually because it’s such a modern classic and I love how all the characters’ stories intertwine.  And it happens to feature my favourite Christmas song too…

Christmas song: Mariah Carey, All I Want For Christmas Is You because the festive intro just makes me so excited, and there is no better song to belt out as you drive home for Christmas!

Sarah Harding

Christmas movie: Home Alone. Simple – it’s a classic.

Christmas song: Wham! Last Christmas. This is my favourite Christmas song because after all these time, it’s still catchy and the video is 80’s pure cheese – I absolutely love it!
