CubanEight’s favourite Christmas songs

Christmas is coming and at CubanEight we are getting into the festive spirit.Along with the food, drinks, presents and general joy, Christmas songs have got to be one of the best parts of the season.

Because tonight is the much anticipated CubanEight Christmas party, I wanted to find out what rocks the team’s boat when it comes to Christmas songs…

Sian – “My favourite is Last Christmas by Wham. It has the right level of cheesiness and Christmas spirit, as soon as I hear it I know it’s Christmas!”

Jo – “Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire by Nat King Cole for me because it makes me warm, cosy and misty eyed…”

Mary – “My favourite Christmas song is All I want for Christmas by Mariah Carey because the festive intro just makes me so excited, and there is no better song to belt out as you drive home for Christmas!”

Josh – “Little Drummer Boy by David Bowie & Bing Crosby because anything that Bowie lends his vocals on becomes gold dust, and the ‘rum pum pum pum’s are pretty annoyingly catchy too.”

Charlotte – “Fairytale of New York by the Pogues. I think there is too much pressure to have a ‘perfect’ family Christmas and this song always makes me laugh when I’m struggling to buy 30 presents and cater for 20!  I especially love the bit where they really start flinging the insults…”

And for me it’s got to be Christmas Wrapping by The Waitresses. My sisters and I always used to try to learn all the word of the rap and sing along in time (we still do). It reminds me of big, fun family Christmases.
