It has been just over seven weeks since I began my career in PR here at CubanEight and what a seven weeks it has been!
I recently completed my degree in Communication, Media and Culture at Oxford Brookes University, while also gaining valuable first-hand work experience in PR and communication agencies. Bringing together the knowledge and skills I have gained, I was excited to begin my PR career at CubanEight.
From the get-go, I have immersed myself in tasks that have varied from manning social media accounts for clients, pitching news stories to journalists and leading marketing support for some of our brands.
What I quickly realised in the first few days is that to work successfully in a PR agency you need to be incredibly organised, flexible and forward-thinking. CubanEight’s roster of clients range from B2B to B2C which means that no day or task is ever the same.
What has been great about beginning my PR career at CubanEight as a Junior Account Executive is the amount of support and time I have received already from the team to get me up to speed on clients on a regular basis and my overall understanding of PR. It has been almost two months since I started here at CubanEight and I can’t quite believe how much I have learnt in such a short space of time.
Starting a new job is never easy, especially when you’re pretty much starting from scratch; but when you’re a part of a company that wants and helps you to grow and progress professionally, you know you’re in safe hands.
